The Oklahoma State University Tax Schools provide a combination of value and experience unique to tax education. This is education that is more than just CPE. OSU Ag Extension has sponsored the annual Farm & Business Tax Institute since 1962. The Institute originally was a course to educate farmers, preparers, and extension specialists with information necessary to prepare tax returns. Although mindful of the initial purpose of the Institute, over the years it has grown and evolved into a professional continuing education program for tax practitioners addressing broader aspects affecting all individuals, businesses and other entities. The courses address various areas of tax practice, including compliance, tax planning and representation.
The Schools as a whole include the Fall Tax Institutes and the Summer Tax Clinics. Now, with the addition of our new Special Topics Seminar Series, the OSU Tax Schools can provide the necessary 40 hours of Continuing education a tax practitioner needs each year.
OSU Fall Tax Institutes (16 hours CPE/CLE that includes 2 hours ethics) are held in November and December at various locations in Oklahoma. The content is updated each year and is based on materials in the 600 plus page National Income Tax Workbook™ that is completely rewritten each year and used at similar tax schools throughout the United States.
