Help for Communities Without Broadband
Infrastructure
Rural individuals and businesses that lack broadband infrastructure are at a disadvantage - but they CAN make a difference! Numerous resources are available for communities that currently lack any type of broadband infrastructure. These include:
Funding sources such as grants and / or loans from the federal government.
Guides developed by extension personnel at other universities (which actually walk communities step-by-step towards becoming connected).
A list of consultants who can perform feasibility studies for different types of broadband systems in rural areas (wireless, fiber to the home, public – private partnerships).
Success stories about rural communities here in Oklahoma that have been able to bring broadband access to their towns.
