The Agricultural Economics Graduate Student Association (GSA) works to enhance student-faculty communications and relations. Formal functions of the GSA include representing views of the graduate students on graduate program issues, the solicitation of professional group memberships such as the American, Western, and Southern Agricultural Economics Associations, to act as a liaison to incoming students, and to assign office space.
All graduate students in the Department of Agricultural Economics are members. A president, vice-president,
secretary, representative for campus wide Graduate Student Association
and a treasurer are elected annually. The main duties of the officers are the successful operation of the GSA.
The vice-president is also responsible for the assignment of graduate student offices.
Duties not performed by the apponited offices are delegated to standing
committee chairs. Standing committees are social, sports,
computer, academic and seminar, and calendar chairs.
